Start with purpose

Before choosing a target, ask what change would make an authentic difference in your life. Goals imposed by comparison may not be motivating.

Choose observable actions

Break a broad target into something you can practice. “Improve communication” might become “ask one clarifying question in each important discussion.”

Make room for adjustment

Responsibilities and priorities change. Review goals periodically and treat revisions as a sign of learning, not weakness.

Celebrate learning

Notice effort, new skills, feedback and improved decisions. Outcomes matter, but they are not the only evidence of progress.
